BoC-Surigao tax collections up by 27%
SURIGAO CITY, Philippines – Once again, the district port of Surigao, with main office address at Surigao City, was able to meet and in fact surpassed the target set for the month of August this year.
Collection target of php2M for August was clearly exceeded with a netted surplus of Php539,945 or 27 percent off the target.
So far accumulated collections from January up to end-August have already reached Php 32,015,435 which thus far has already outdid the 2018 annual target of about Php20million. Yet all is not finished, even as collection efforts have to be doubled in the frontline to generate more revenues for the flagship infrastructure programs, among others, of President Rodrigo Duterte.
In spite of fewer importations in this part of the country, Surigao port and its subports Bislig (Surigao del Sur) and Nasipit (Agusan Norte) have tried much on maximizing collection revenues partly by ensuring the honest-to-goodness and correct appraisal/valuation of in-bound imported goods.
